trying to put maps on 800 have i done something wrong?

just watched a youtube vid to put talkytoaster maps on my garmin 800 i have enabled the map & disabled the basemap but if i entre a post code it states no results found try searching parameters. any ideas?

    Nope. OSM maps don't do postcode searching that I'm aware of

    oh that explains it then. What benefits do they offer over basemaps then? ie was it worth the effort?

    Basemaps on anything but the 1000 are a joke but if you plan your route then they're fine.

    I have the latest official Garmin map on mine and it's sublime. No OSM map (for NI at least) comes close to it in functionality.
    And the people bowed and prayed, to the neon god they made.

  • As previously stated OSM does not support postcode search. Not that in many years of using gps units have I ever wanted or needed to do one.
