Northwave SRS

Hi,

I'm looking at getting a pair of Northwave SRS shoes

They appear to be pretty well recommended - and reviews suggest there could be sizing queries. Does anybody have experience of these/any comments?

Hi Mike,

I've just had some of these and did indeed have sizing issues.

Whilst a 45 Shimano fits me with a bit of wiggle room for the toes the SRS in a 45 were like a pair of luminous green canoes, I would have been able to get into a 44 with ease. Width wise I would say that the Northwave are far wider than say a Specialised shoe.

One thing I didn't like about them was the ratchet buckle that, although adjustable, just didn't feel sturdy due to the design of the straps attachment method (the end opposite to the ratchet goes through a loop and velcro's to itself).

Other than that I quite liked them, they were very light and felt fairly well built. I would say that Specialised, Shimano and Lake shoes have a generally better build quality though.

They're sound. I've used Northwave shoes for years and I can't fault them, I've had the sonic srs for a couple of months now and yet again another great shoe, I'd say that they're a bargain at the mo and I may get another pair because they're that comfy.
I've never had a quality issue with a shoe or a failure with the SRS and SBS ratchet system, in the end they just wear out like any other cycling shoe.
I'm a UK 9.5 and a Northwave 44 fits like a glove.

I appreciate that our feet are unique to each and every one of us, and asking about sizing will always get mixed results, but still good to hear feedback
