New Volare 953 f+f, with groupset and finishing kit from my old bike. Current weight 7.2Kg.

Volare 953 frame
Enve 2.0 forks
Full Dura-Ace 9000 groupset
Handbuilt (by me) Panceti SL23 rims on Novatec hubs
Use Alien seatpost
Selle Italia SLR saddle
Deda Einstein 12cm stem
Deda Newton bars
Look pedals

I think it needs new finishing kit to do it justice as the old bars, stem and seatpost are all getting on a bit and looking a bit tatty. I like the shape of the Deda Newton anatomic bars, so looking for suggestions for something that will perform well and look good and have a similar shape. Any suggestions most welcome...

    That's a yes from me!

On the finishing kit front, I have seen Deda on a Genesis recetly. Looks a good match. Their carbon seat post is sublime, if you can stretch to it.

I've wanted a nice steel frame for a long time and couldn't really justify one but then i couldn't resist the discounted price either!

I went for new Deda superleggera finishing kit, but haven't fitted it yet. Will post some better (daylight) photos shortly and maybe I'll even manage a quick ride on it before packing it away for winter.

The build is finished now and rode it for the first time this morning. It's light, stiff and the handling is very confidence inspiring. Note sure what else to add, I like it! :)

    Enve 2.0 Road fork
Pacenti SL23 rims on Novatec hubs with cx-ray spokes

    Look Keo 2 max pedals
    Weight: 7.4Kg

Hi again do you know if the head tube is 135mm top to bottom or is it measured centre to centre of the top tube and down tube? This is the size I need but a 135mm HT seems short but on your bike the geo looks right for me.

I was a bit worried about the short headtube too, but it's fine. The total e2e headtube length is 13.5cm, but it has external bottom cups that add 1cm. I also bought a headset with a tall top stack so I didn't need too many spacers. As it is, I could probably lower the stem a bit, but I'll see how I get on with it.

New Fabric Scoop Pro saddle and different wheels.

Haven't ridden it much yet as it's really my summer / dry weather bike, but the few goes I've had on it are all really positive. Certainly doesn't feel in any way lacking...

It's hard to be sure but looking at the geometry I'm pretty sure it can only take two tyres.

    Thanks :)

I've just tried the wheels off my wife's bike on it. They're narrow 20mm rims with 28mm conti gator skins on and they fit. There's plenty of clearance in the Enve forks and plenty of room at the back from a width PoV. However, there wasn't much clearance between the tyre and centre of the DA rear brake, i.e., the height of the tyre was only just ok.

On a 23mm rim I think 28s would be fineand 27mm tyres should be fine either way.

Of course, with the renowned springy ride of steel, you'd probably be fine with 25mm tyres anyway :)

I've just built up some new wheels for it. I've no illusions they'll make me any faster, but I do think they look cool!

    Nope!

Trying again. Google seem to have changed something with their image hosting...

Very pleased with the new wheels, the braking seems absolutely fine (dry miles only so far) and very light at only 1250grms.

Bit of an experiment. Does it look better with or without the orange bits?
