I have just gone back to posting on avforums.com after a few years away. In between times they have changed platform to what is an intrusive monstrosity.
There are quite a few ads although, so far, none fill the page suddenly. However if you happen to drag your mouse over some of the many navigation links or your profile link, a drop down box appears and takes up a significant amount of screenspace. It doesn't go away until you click on a bit of whitespace either.
So this place is not the worse however given the speed of fixing issues on here I suspect they have a committee set up to explore the web and find the most intrusive platform.
Lets just hope the committee doesn't find avforums!!
