The implications for running training programmes on a training ride are huge.

This is very much in its infancy.

If it is allowed, this will become defacto in TT.

  • Thus you can simply set a race plan with a specific wattage target – such as 315w, and the bike will shift automatically to maintain that wattage.
What? How does that work? Maybe I'll get one, set 500W for 6 hours and let the bike shift gears to let me achieve it.

I'd imagine that the bike will shift the gears to allow to achieve 500w, but you just won't be able to turn them for very long!

You state your preferred cadence and power output. The bike will then adjust gear based on terrain to enable you to push the correct cadence whilst generating the desired power.
