Hello,
I came to the forum in the past for advice on an entry level mountain bike and from the advice I recieved I selected the Calibre two two. It's a great bike and amazing value for money, it's really one of the best purchases I've made.
I'm looking to getting into road cycling and found out calibre now to road bikes. I know the quality of the calibre build but don't know much about road bikes. I was wondering if I could perhaps get a review from anyone who has the bikes or just a look at the specs for the price of the bike. Can't find a review on any sites so hopefully you can help.

I'm not interested in the flat bar just the other three, your help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Might be a good shout at the price. Bear in mind that a lot of discounted bikes will get close to full retail of the bikes you linked to.

Buy a copy of the current Cycling Active (Nov issue). They review 4 "budget" bikes and the Calibre Stat (£655 - mainly Tiagra with R501 wheelset) comes out top.

Admittedly it only just beats the Merlin PR7 (£299 - Shimano Claris - CXP 22 wheelset) so with the change you save you could easily upgrade the groupset and/or the wheels.

Since the range was only launched fairly recently you will struggle to find anyone with first hand experience of any of the range. At this stage magazine reviews are probably as good as it gets.

There is also likely to be some reticence among the "serious" road bike community due to a modicum of brand snobbery since the only outlet is the Go Outdoors chain. However that may change - just look at the Btwin range from Decathlon. They were probably viewed in much the same way when they were launched but have developed something of a cult following in the budget road bike category.
