Flat top cap?

So my bike has the stem lowered all the way down and I still need it to go lower. The top cap above of the headset is one of the cone type ones I think it's around 15mm, so if I lost this I would probably be able to get as low as I wanted so I was wandering if there are any flat or smaller replacement top caps. It needs to fit well because it's for my wet weather bike to keep all the dirt and grit out.

Any help appreciated.

Ask in a bike shop. I got one by walking into Evans and asking. One of the guys went and had a scrunge through the stuff in the workshop and found one for me. It's an FSA one with a little o ring on it, just the job and didn't cost me a bean. I bought them a box of Jaffa Cakes by way of thanks.

Yep - try the LBS - was having problems getting a stack hight right on a frame and they had a box full of them. May well just swap a low one for your volcano.

If not, you can get them online - just google headset cover.
  • Or just ditch the cover and go straight onto the bearing?
