I have just bought a shimano 105 10spd 11-28 cassette to replace a Tiagra 10 spd 11-25.
Will I need to replace the chain. It has done about 1000 kms.

    Under normal circumstances you can use the old chain further.
    Measuring =Knowledge
    Take a ruler, set it on 118 mm , stick it in the chain, pull out
    120,5 mm is worn out

    1000km isn't a huge amount of mileage on a chain. I typically get 5000km+ per chain.
    Probably just switch the cassette or measure to be sure.

    Just depends if it's long enough as your cassette size has increased, suspect that you may get away with it though. No need to replace chain on only 1000km though unless damaged.

    A new chain will be 2-3" longer than required probably - they are manufactured long enough to cope with the longest chainstay likely to be encountered.
