Morning all, just about to start buying stuff in to build up a new frame and I'm running CF forks for the first time. Can you post up a couple of links to the style of bung I need to put in the forks instead of the star nut, please?
Just want to make sure I don't do it wrong!

You only need a bung if you have a carbon steerer.Specialized S Works SL2 . Campagnolo Record 11spd. rolling on Campag Zonda wheels

Bungs come in different diamter for 1 1/8" forks. MEasure the ID of the carbon steerer if you have one and make sure you get a compatible bung. I have bought a variety of 1 1/8" bungs in the past only to find they don't fit some fork but fit others. If you have an alloy steerer then use a star nut. The columbus bung is one I have found to quite useless even with columbus forks.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0

Unlike thecyclinic I've never had a sizing problem - but then I've only bought 3 or 4!0 -
I use this one from Planet X - http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/FSPXFBUMK2/planet-x-carbon-steerer-fork-bung-mk-20

Deda bungs are ones I have found to work well. Currently I use a Zenith bung, a bit cheaper but it works well with most forks but not all!http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0

I managed to safely cut my carbon steerer by using 2 jubilee clips and a 32T hacksaw. Be prepared to blunt 2 or 3 blades cutting it. You have to rotate the jubilee clips around part way through, because of the screws on them.
If you put the clips on so the screws aren't together you can get a really thin channel to cut down and it ends up straight. Then sand off the top ever so slightly, only sanding the inside-out upwards and the outside-in upwards, with fine sandpaper.
Don't blame me if it goes wrong or gets cut too short. :P
I did my expander bung up to about 8Nm. Then the headset to about 3nm-4nm. Stem bolts to 6nm-7nm.0
