What sorts of rear mudguard can I put on a Spesh Allez?

I know nothing, don't know what is out there, except something called Raceblades I keep hearing mentioned.
If it makes any difference I have an Mpart seat collar on the post, for a pannier rack which is never on the bike (except when I go touring).
Cheers.

Raceblade Longs work very well but I only use the rear section on each wheel. The guards come with 2 sections per wheel but the bit that goes in front of the bridge is far too much faffe and adds to the weight (without adding to function). I run these with 25s.

The mudguards can be put on/removed in a few mins and, once set up, don't need any additional adjustment. There are 2 'features': The break in the cover for the brake bridge means that there is a tendency to dump water around the brakes and the connection is not all it could be (there are a few reports of the clip mech failing although the post sales support is very good).

The Cruds Roadracers mk2 also work but I found they needed continual adjustment and flexed just too much in operation (as in, when honking up a hill), others rave about them though. Don't think they would work with 25s, I tried them with 23s and the clearance was very tight.

Crud RR2 worked on 23mm Conti 4-season tyres on Fulcrum Racing 7 wheels - with the original specialised tyres and Mavic CXP22 wheels they rubbed.

Another vote for Raceblade Longs, far far better than Cruds (or normal raceblades)
  • I like the 'PUSH Sprint' rear guard that clips on to the seatpost.

    Do narrow SKS chromoplastics fit?
    Does the bike have eyelets?
  • So I'm back on this now, having failed to 'action' it last year, and having just got a wet backside and dirty rucksack twice this week ... Raceblade Longs looking favourite - any more tips?

I've played around with Cruds and Raceblades but when I just want to keep my back dry I pop on one of these

Not pretty but works in keeping my back and bum dry... doesn't do so much to protect any rider on my wheel (club runs). Very easy and quick to fit and no problems with rubbing.

Edit... btw, I have mine fitted a lot lower than shown in the link and have it quite close to the tyre.

Portland design works are full fitted mudguards which attach to your QR levers. No sawing/cutting required - I have a pair which easily went on, but annoyingly my 25mm tyres are too big so don't fit so may have to settle for narrower rubber.

I've seen a couple of allezs with them fitted

That Zefal Swan thing is all I need, the rest look a bit excessive and fiddly - ordered for £8, job done, thanks.
