Hi im trying to renovate a very old alpinestar cro mega mtb.
It has 6 speed casette with a really odd looking freehub that has a big step in the freehub halway along so the inner half of the freehub is fat & the second half for the 3 outer cassette rings is alot narrower. It does have some kind of the hyperglide type groove on the freehub, for the cassete rings to fit on the right way.
Teeth aren't in bad shape but its very rusty, am guessing there no way to find a replacement 6 speed cassete that would fit?

But are you sure it's not a freewheel you've pulled apart? They have a step in them where the pawls are.I don't do smileys.

As above pics are really needed."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
