Painting a carbon frame??

Hi all,

Is it possible to paint a carbon framed bike? My wife has a white specialized Amira Sport which is a great little bike but she wishes she'd bought a black bike, which I can understand.

Is there a way of changing frame and forks colour?

    It's definitely possible. However to do it properly the bike would need to be stripped so there's some work involved. I'm sure you can get it done if you're not happy doing it yourself but I doubt it'll be cheap.

    Carbon frames can indeed be refinished, but unfortunately yes, not cheap.

    Have a look at the website of a chap called Ali www.fatcreations.com

    In the gallery there's a carbon fibre Specialized Shiv that had the original finish removed and given a totally bespoke paint job.

    I used him to paint my latest custom build and the quality was excellent, his turnaround was less than 3 weeks, which for a good painter is excellent.
