Can you recommend any SPD shoes for winter?
My current Shimano M088 shoes seem to fill up with water at the merest hint of rain, so are there any better options?
was looking at Shimano AM45 shoes.
any ideas?

I do have these but was looking for a lazy option so I don't have to carry the overshoes every day.0

Have you consider a pair of sealskinz socks? I use the thin ankle length type, failing that Shimano do a SH-XC51N or the more expensive SH-MW81.0

The MW81s worked out really well for me the past couple of winters and still in really good nick.

I've got the earlier 80's and they never perfomed well, the only good thing is that they keep my feet warm when wet!0 -

That's kind of the point... no shoe can ever keep out heavy rain as the tights will wick the water into the shoe. My MW80s are fine for cold and wet. When it gets properly cold and my poor circulation causes me to suffer, I add overshoes and they have been toasty to -8CChunky Cyclists need your love too! :-)

AM41s or AM45s with a pair of sealskinz.
The newer AMs are more plasticky, so provide decent rain proofing. No good if you are riding through rivers, fords and deep puddles.2007 Felt Q720 (the ratbike)

Whatever shoes and overshoes you get make sure you take the innersole out and tape over the holes where the cleats are bolted through.0
