Hi,
Off to Mallorca next week for a few days and trying to download a suitable map for my Edge 800 that has the contours etc on it so we can get the gradients on it.
the one i downloaded from here http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/ doesnt appear to have any.
As we are going for the climbs, it would be good to see on the gps how far we have to go.
Can anyone help with any links?
thanks
Paul

plotyour route on ridewith gps.com - that gives you profile information. the open street map will be fine for the garmin for navigation and you gte the profile info on the edge 800 as you ride - I was there a couple of weeks ago with an 800 and maps from same source!

    see for example

  • thanks, i'll have a look. looks similar to mapometer which i tend to use. I export the gpx from that which gives you the elevation profile, but when i upload to the garmin, the elevation disappears. I want to be able to see the elevation of whats coming up and where i am on the climbs.
    cheers

when I uploaded mine from RidewithGPS to garmin I got the elevation profiles on that screen, so you could track how far up each climb we were, which as you say sometimes you'd rather not know :D
