    He might fancy a crack at both if the parcours suits it.

    We must be due a slightly more puncheur friendly Giro which isn't so stupidly hard. He might be able to take that and still have enough in the tank for the Tour.

    But Astana have to keep Aru happy by giving him leadership at one of them. If Nibali gets to lead a Giro/Tour double then Aru moves teams at the end of the year.

    Might be a situation where joint Tour leadership makes sense. I wouldn't have either in the top 3 favourites so having 2 cards to play could work out. I suspect it'll be Aru for the Giro and Nibali the Tour though.

    Would Aru not be "promoted" as back up leader for the Tour and then have a real crack at the Vuelta?

    Like taking your kids to Thorpe Park when they're expecting Euro Disney.

    This year he led the Giro and Vuelta. If they treat him like that he'll have signed for someone like BMC before the Vuelta even starts.
