Yes I have gone into settings and search for cadence but it says not found

  • This may sound stupid, but... have you checked the battery, there may be a plastic strip to stop it powering on while it's still in it's packaging. It may also have a reset button which brings it to life?

hit the reset button. pedal the bike. it should then pair.

other option that Garmin recommend is to put the battery in the wrong way round for 10 seconds then replace it properly - apparently resets it too.

I was having problems with my cadence sensor on the 800 double counting (I can't do 230 rpm no matter what Garmin reckon!) & had problems pairing it again when I was fettling away trying to sort the issue (had to move the arm up rather than having it dropped behind the chainstay in the end). What sorted the pairing issue was just going into the sensor profile settings on the Garmin unit (under bike profiles on the 800) selected "no sensor" then went back to the main menu, returned again to the bike profiles/sensor settings section, updated speed/cadence sensor to "yes" and then it picked it up.

The speed/cadence sensor has an led behind the reset button. When pressed (and it sometimes needs a hard poke), for the next 30 seconds it will flash when either the cadence or wheel magnet pass it. I can't remember which away around, but for one it flashes red, the other green. This will check that the battery's OK and it's recording the magnets passing which is the first thing I'd check.

This....both lights on cadence sensor should blink as each magnet passes it for the first 30 secs.
