We (Halfords) charge £25 labour and 50p per spoke for wheel builds. Not sure how that compares to other shops though. It's the same price in all our stores, but I know Evans Cycles prices vary from shop to shop.0

About £20-30 is normal, spokes can range in price depending what you want, I just paid £17.50 per wheel and £4 postage (best price I could find) for some black Sapim double butted from taratybikes.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

I pay £25 for very good quality builds. Spoke price depends on what you want but around 50p to £1.50 each for J bend spokes. Black or coloured spokes are more expensive than silver, butted is more expensive than plain guage.
I went through a phase of smashing DH wheels last year so I know the spoke lengths now and buy my own spokes (Halo plain guage black from Winstanley).
There's a big difference between good builds and bad builds. I use JD Tuning for mine, he does a real top quality build.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -

Thats about £10 for the labour. Less than half the price of every other wheel builder. Why so cheap?Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

got a spoke cutter/thread machine so although he has a big stock of spokes he can cut them which makes it cheaper. He also isn't a big enterprise and does good wheels but lead times can be an issue depending on how busy he is, had to wait 2 weeks to get mine built up for lewis.
also does good deals on wheel builds through him too0 -
They make money on the parts. A quid a spoke?0
