Recording commutes on Strava (910XT)

I've just started to commute to work on my bike and I've been recording the rides on my Garmin 910XT. These then automatically sync to Garmin Connect and now to Strava as soon as I turn my watch on near my computer. I rarely edit the ride details on either site.

I don't really want to spam my followers with each individual tiny little commute, but at the same time I would like to keep a record of how many miles I'm clocking up over the longer term.

Is there any easy way on the watch that I can flag these as a commute? Do commutes get hidden from my activity feed, or do I need to mark them as private? If the later, again is there anyway I can flag this on the watch?

Thanks

Not sure how your watch works, but when I log on my phone before saving I can select the bike used, I have a commuter only bike but you could use the name commute for a different profile for the same bike and that will flag it as a commute.
