got my first set of tubular wheels/tyres after years of using clinchers. What should I know? For a tubs noob.
What do you take with you on a ride? Incase the worst happens

I just take a small can of sealant. I tend to get one puncture per year, about 13 000km so pretty resistant.
Which tubs you got?0 -
Continental sprinters0

OK, I don't have any recent experience of those, I'm more VIttoria / Mavic at the moment or Veloflex if they're cheap (not often).0 -
More importantly........ How do you find them?0

Got my first tub punc*ure the other week going downhill at close to 40 mph. The bike felt reassuringly controlled (Zipp 303 FC's with Veloflex Carbons) unlike some flats I've had on clinchers. Removed the valve core, squirted in some Tufo Extreme, put the core back in, gave it a quick blast of C02, spun the wheel, topped up with gas and off we went. Couldn't have been simpler.0

How many miles are you getting out of the Veloflex's? Heard they don't last long, which kind of puts up your £/mile rate when they're 80 quid each!0 -
I'm getting very good wear from my Veloflex Arenberg tubs.0

Got mine for 55 a tyre ;-) stuck them on at the start of May and have ridden them all summer. The front looks as good as new and will deffo do me another season, the back is showing wear but is no where near a Corsa's summer of wear...if that makes sense!0 -

Sounds good. I've found Carbons for 60 Euros, so 46 quid, might give them a go.0
