Printing .gpx routes

Anyone have a solution for printing out a compact overview of .gpx routes in case of garmin fail/loss? Obviously a map is an option but 90% of it wouldn't be needed.
Thanks for any advice

Upload the gpx then printout an 'offline route guide' - a choice of two or three levels of detail (although generally the least detailed should be enough).
A map is still a good idea - eg if you need to make an unexpected detour.0 -

Ridewithgps creates a cue sheet when you plan a route, you could print this either to pdf or some other format and edit it to meet your requirements.
I see that ridewithgps will allow you to edit and delete the cue sheet entries as required, therefore you could do this prior to printing.
Here is a sample
