Chain dropping down the cassette

Hey
I'm running a 1x10, I fitted an expander cog (LBS whipped it on the wheel as I don't have a chain whip) this evening. For some reason, it's dropping the chain down the cassette three or four cogs when I back pedal or wheel the bike backwards.... any idea whats causing this? for reference, it's not happening when I pedal normally
