Mudguards n' single speeds

Am I missing something? How do you remove the rear wheel from a single speed (or fixed) with full length guards without taking the guard apart?

I use SKS Chromaplastics on my fixed and use a pair of the break-away connectors (as per front mudguards) to make the back wheel easily removeable.
Google tells me they are called Secu Clips:

I carry a screwdriver to undo the stays and budge the guard over just enough for the wheel to come out of the drop outs. Bit of a faff.0

If the guards have a little bit of clearance then you can usually get the wheel out with the tyre deflated.0

I run RoadRacers on my Tricross cause of this and undo the rear stay thumbnuts as I've extended the guards and added another set of stays.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0
