Hi all,
Getting more and more into road riding now and want to go SPD route.
I believe I need pedals and compatible shoes (+ cleats)?
Budget of £100 for the lot, is that possible?
Thank you,

If you actually want SPD and not SPD-SL I can recommend the Shimano RT82 currently (road touring)

There is a currently a £15 off voucher for £99 spend so it might be worth getting them here:

You say the SPD route, do you specifically mean this type of pedal or just a 'clip in' pedal?
If it's the latter then SPD-SL is generally the more widely used for road cycling so I'd get a pair of these pedals for less than £20 leaving you a good amount to buy some shoes which are possibly worth trying on in a shop to get a decent fit.

I popped into a local Specialized store today, and got a pair of the Spesh Shoes, Shimano SPD-SL pedals, & Cleats, - which they fitted for me,.......for £110.
At least I could try them on and make sure the shoes fitted, as you could easily waste postage and time if the fit is wrong.......so worth the possibly slight extra in my opinion.0 -
Evans were doing LG LS100's with Boa Closure for £78 and you can get Shimano M540's for less than £20 (you need the OE version).
Think they have gone up to £95 at the moment, but they are doing 3 for 2 on LG stuff if that helps.0 -

I recently bought a pair of the LS100s at £78 price. I've done a few hundred miles on them now and I'm very pleased with them. Comfortable and I like the Boa Closure system which seems both very easy to open/close but more importantly gives great adjustment.“You may think that; I couldn’t possibly comment!”

Just don't let your dog (if you have one) get the Boa dial.
They are quite easy to fix if you do but about £15 each.
When I looked on the review of the replacement Boa dial, there was only one, and he had let his dog get them too!
I meant to say R540, not M540 in my previous post.0 -
Check out merlin cyclses. Also make sure that any pedals include cleats.'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0
