HG 81-10 MTB cassette on R500 wheelset

Just purchased an 11-32 SLX HG81-10 cassette for a build project for my grandson. It will be a flat bar design to ease his transition from his aging mountain bike.

Was wondering if I would need to use a spacer to enable this cassette to run on some Shimano R500 10-speed wheels

I know that the 12-30 Tiagra 10-speed does not use a spacer but some other cassettes do. Just not sure about the SLX HG variety

    That cassette should go straight on.

    Tiagra 10 speed doesn't as you said but 105/ultegra/dura ace do need the 10 speed spacer.
