Didn't have you down as a golfer Pina "Arran, you are like the Tony Benn of smut. You have never diluted your depravity and always stand by your beliefs. You have my respect sir and your wife my pity"

I haven't got time for golf unfortunately. In this area I am in reach of 7 Courses in less than 30 miles. All cheap as chips to play on which is why golf in Scotland isn't the poshy game it is down south. Even the unemployed play golf here!seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -

Any evidence this has had an effect? Anyone been theatrically throwing themselves to the ground or aggressively haranguing the match officials?Statistically, 6 out of 7 dwarves are not happy.0 -

Is V68 allowed to cycle on them?0 -
Garcia was useless in 2008 apparently.
Well done Faldo for boosting confidence during this tournament.
#sarcasm#The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

Down here, they have to sign on and look for work.0 -

The English tax payer subsidising the Scottish. Yet again. No wonder they voted to stay part of the union.
On a Ryder cup note. I expect a big fight back from the Yanqis today.Always be yourself, unless you can be Aaron Rodgers....Then always be Aaron Rodgers.0 -

They were thrashed senseless and the fall out has already started in the US camp.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0

Big Phil didn't pull any punches at the post match press conference. Openly scathing of Tom Watson's captaincy, followed by a five mile stare as Watson responded to the comments. I don't think the US team was a happy camp. But then the US has always been 12 individuals thrown together, whereas the Europeans are more of a family even on tour.Always be yourself, unless you can be Aaron Rodgers....Then always be Aaron Rodgers.0

Loved the quote about" Michelson 'Loser, Loser captain abuser".. how can anyone pick on Watson , he's like everyones favourite grandad. Watson's response to Michelson was just as you'd expect from a gentleman. All lies and jest..still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest....0 -

I think Big Phil has lost quite a lot of admirers/followers, with what he did, only 1 HOUR after losing. I have read this morning that he traveled to Gleneagles separately from the team. He has a history of this. So perhaps that tells us all something about his commitment to the team.
Tom Watson is the ultimate pro and gentlemen unlike some of the current crop of US golf stars.Always be yourself, unless you can be Aaron Rodgers....Then always be Aaron Rodgers.0 -

Agreed. Hardly gracious in defeat, was he? Why not just accept they got beaten by a better team (again)?0 -

I always remember the hysteria after America won and Olazabal was left holding his club whilst there were Americans wooping and shouting whilst he still had a shot to play. I'll also always remember Payne Stewart going against the grain and being quite the gentleman in the face of that debacle. Pity he died in a plane crash but that gracious American is now hard to find and T Watson has been a great ambassador for the sport.
The consensus amongst my clients across Dumfries and Galloway is that it's all sour grapes.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -

I reckon that the ultra-partizan atmosphere of the Ryder cup, and the advent of USAs' ungentlemanly attitude to winning and losing started in 1991 at Kiawah Island.
Below is an article taken off the interweb
After accusing each other of cheating at The Belfry in 1989, the feud between Seve Ballesteros and Paul Azinger escalated at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort in 1991. Azinger said, "I can tell you we're not trying to cheat." Ballesteros replied, "Oh no. Breaking the rules and cheating are two different things." The constant goading intensified their desire to win and with their partners, José María Olazábal and Chip Beck respectively, they produced what is regarded as the best pairs match in history, with the Spaniards winning 2 & 1. The match also received the sobriquet "the War on the Shore" after some excitable advertising in the American media, and Corey Pavin added to the frenzy by sporting a Desert Storm baseball cap during the event.
