bigger cassette with short cage rear mech

my 2013 cannondale supersix has a front compact 50x34 chainset and a rear 12x27 cassette, with a 105 rear mech which i think is a short cage but has no markings on it, will the rear mech work with a 12x30 cassette.

    Shimano offically says no. But it will work as long as your rear mech hanger allows sufficient adjustment of the B-tension screw (most of them do).
