Wheels and tyres for road use

Ok so I got a New Specialized Crave Pro 29'r, its a cracking bit of kit and probably more than I need. I've been riding the roadie for a couple of years and this is for daily shop runs and trail riding for fun and when the weathers too crap for the roadie.
So I'm thinking a cheap set of wheels and 'road' tyres i.e more tread and less knobbles would be better and more hard wearing for the daily Asda runs on roads and pavements.
So any suggestions for the wheels with QR 9mm and rotor mounts and tyres for 'Urban' use?
cheers

Can't help you on the wheels but as far as tyres are concerned, what's your priorities?
Do you want something quick and comfy, just quick, bulletproof, capable of some off-road (e.g. unpaved canal paths)
If I wanted something for all round road riding with reasonable comfort and some puncture protection I'd probably get something like Continental Contact II or Top Contact II in 32mm or 37mm. I'd also like the reflective strips on the side walls for cycling at night - I find these really noticable when I come across bikes fitted with them while driving.0 -
What swap wheels, you could well end up indexing the rear gears and centring both callipers each time you swap, making it easier to just change tyres.
Any of you roadie 700c tyres will fit, I'd use 28 or 32mm on the carve to avoid them looking too silly.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
