As per title - started to strip the thread attempting to unscrew the high screw on my SRAM Force front derailleur.
Any solution to unscrew the high screw - only slight adjustment needed -if failing that how can I remove the screw and then find a replacement?

Have you stripped the thread or mashed the slots in the screw head?

Thanks - I have just realised what I put -I have mashed the slots in the screw head.
  • Before you try anything ensure that the pressure is off the screw by putting the deraileur into the small ring. You may then be able to remove the screw entirely toeither replace it or hacksaw a deeper slot across it.

Carefully superglue the screwdriver tip to it.

If it's steel in aluminium and it stuck, soak it in black tea, which will soften the built up aluminium oxide on the threads, then cut a decent slot in the top of the screw, tap it a few times, attempt tightening first then unscrew.

Try this before amonia or a blow lamp
