Ive got a pair of 661's but as my mtb'ing has changed since a crash I find they are hot sweaty and horrible to wear tbh. Im no big jumper and even have a 29er to keep my wheels on the ground. Im after some softer shelled knee pads looking online none of the descriptions show any as softer shell? I just want something for to keep the knee's protected in the off chance I will come off but comfortable and lightweight? are there any out there?

I highly recommend Bliss Protection ARG knee pads. I generally hate pads but these don't bother me at all. Much prefer them to previous pads I've owned from Troy Lee, Race Face and 661. Very light, breathable and comfy. They also have Armourgel protection, which is like the D30 shock absorbing material that hardens on impact but stays flexy otherwise. They're not cheap but you do get what you pay for.

I've been using Fox Launch Enduro's for a few months now and absolutely love them, mega comfy, light and offer just enough protection for piece of mind. Will certainly be getting a spare pair soon!0
