those Shimano 'windbreak' look just the ticket but yet again they have been discontinued and don't exist in Medium any more.....0 -

Ah you must have gone for the 'Winter' tights (extra fleece for warmth) - the Windbreak ones are the lightweight ones and they have run out in most sizes.0 -
Yes mate I did... Sorry to get your hopes up0

it is an ongoing MAJOR gripe of mine this. I just don't understand it - and the irony is you can get them but only the really fleecy thick ones which are too warm for the winter in this country.
Thanks to pointers on this forum I've managed to locate what appear to be the right thing online - but guess what? No Small, no Medium. Pretty much discontinued.

We just need THIN PADLESS BIB-LONGS.
Please.
Dont know if its any use but Windwave list the legshield bib tights as available without a pad - BBW-187. not cheap tho by the looks of it (EDIT: just seen you said THIN tights, i have no idea on the materials used)
http://windwave.co.uk/products/clothing/tights
HTH
I am considering the BBW-188 (with pad) or the dhb Vaeon Roubaix padded bib tight from wiggle at half the priceMy winter bike is exactly the same as my summer bike,,, but dirty...0 -
OK tried everything on... I am about 5'10 tall, 33 inch waist and about 11 stone... (70kgs)
The Shimano Winter Bib tights in Medium fitted (just) but Jeez, I couldn't imagine wearing anything underneath (which I would need to as they're padless)... So I tried on the large and they were quite lose around the legs (mainly the calf area)... so result is they're going back...
The Endura 3/4 bibs, in Medium fit 'quite' nicely but I think they might be a tad too small... Slight case of camel toe appearing  leading me to think that they might be a fraction too short in length on the top half... Needless to say I didn't try the size small on.
Am going to keep hold of the Medium Endura bibs and order the large, sending everything else back... and then make my decision...
Hope this helps anyone following this thread...0 -
..that's why I like wearing my bib shorts and leg warmers, perfect fit0
-
Any other recommendations for 3/4 bibs?0
-
Bobbinogs I am thinking of going down that route if the 3/4 bibs don't work out... Any recommendations for decent leg warmers, that don't bunch behind the knees?
Bluemoon17 The Endura 3/4 bibs are really nice, quite thick, so not sure if they will be too warm or not...
Hoping that the Larges will be only slightly larger... Sizing guide on CRC seems a bit out as there is no way I am a 35-37"waist... 34 at the most...!!!0 -

We just need THIN PADLESS BIB-LONGS.
Please.
What about the Howie Bib Tights? These are padless and are not a super thick material. Details here:

I have a pair on order so am looking forward to see what they are like. The item also links to a review on another UK cycling website.0 -

I found that the best way is to get to a shop with your fav shorts and try a few pairs on. The lengths and girth can vary between brands, as can the length of shorts and riders' legs! Hence, hard to advise when fit plays a big part.
However, when it comes to quality the Castelli range really is good. I am happy to rave about the Nanoflex version as they work well in wet/cold situations without being overweight (which can lead to bunching behind the knee).
There is also a risk that some shorts will not hold the leg warmers up, some Santini shorts I have won't hold leg warmers up for a long time whereas my Castelli shorts/legwarmers are a great combo, probably no surprise though.0 -

ooh, cheers squire0 -
Out of stock.
Haha. Hahaha. AHAHAHAHA....0 -
Just ordered a pair of these:

More like it on the price front - I think anything over £45 is taking the p * ss really for what is essentially a pair of running tights with shoulder straps.0 -
Cry god for Harry England and St George, I think I've found just the bloody thing:
http://www.sigmasport.co.uk/item/Specia ... -AW13/2MRP
Lightly fleeced on the inside, great fit.
I'll shut the f * ck up now.0 -
haha... nice one... What sizing did you go for?0

Small I think (they are at home) - I'm 5'6/7 and 68kg, 31" waist.
The Madison ones from Tredz I linked to above have just arrived too but not had chance to try those on.0 -
Swear by these: http://www.prendas.co.uk/santini-cult-bib-tights-with-twistgel-seat-pad.html Not cheap but superb quality, great fit and does what they need to do.
Bib shorts and carry leg and arm warmers early spring / early autumn. Colder days the Santini bib tights. You don't need anything else.0 -
