Garmin 810 question

There's no doubt gonna be a simple solution to this,

When I make course and load it to my garmin 810 I select it on the garmin and a map comes up which I can ride and follow. Its really helpful through all the back lanes of the north west cause they all look the same and it helps avoiding some nasty climbs late on.
But, how do I start both map and my clock with HRM and cadence ?. If I start the course the clock doesn't start, if I start the clock I cant access the map.

I hope this makes sense , I wanted to access both course map while riding then quick swipe the screen to see speed HRM all that.

Just start the course and then change the screen to a data page with speed/cadence etc. on it. When you approach a junction the map should display with the direction you turn and it should automatically switch back to the data page after the turn. That's how the 800 works.
