Bitten by the bug

Not referring to the cycling bug, but more literal than that...
...is it just me, or is anyone else out there suffering from an increase in insect bites whilst out and about? Now I'm not even sure if it is whilst cycling, but my legs between my knee and ankle (the exposed bits in shorts), are looking like a join-the-dots puzzle at the moment (nice, huh?).
Of course it could be next doors cat leaving fleas as it's been wandering in a bit more this summer, with our back door being open more.

In the forestry area by us I was getting bitten a lot by bugs earlier in the year which is unusual for me.0
