Have they been allowed to bed in and the pistons set?0
-
No. It's not a problem with how the brake bites. It's a problem with the lever feel.0
-
But the pistons have to be allowed to advance out - can be a problem with new brakes, especially avids. Advancing the pads then forms up the lever feel. May not be this, but is definitely a possibility.0

It's not that but thanks for the suggestion.
The problem is with the lever. I'm just looking for other people's opinions with the brakes as at the moment these brakes are released into the market as they are on a hell of a lot of bikes from many brands.0 -
Have you bought a bike or just been wandering around a bike shop squeezing them?I don't do smileys.

I've got a fetish for pulling people's brakes actually
I work in a shop with these brakes on bikes. I'm currently not sending them out to customers as I'm not happy with them and am trying to resolve it but I'm wondering if other people/shops are having this problem.0 -
Shouldn't you have a responsible adult with you?Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Hi Terry, im having exactly the same problem as you with these brakes, would like to know (in private if possible) which brands you've spoken to about it, is there a private message function on these boards?0

There is a PM function but you can't use it until you have a number of posts.
He didn't have an issue with the brakes, he just thought he had due to his inexperience.
Best you start your own thread and describe the symptoms you have properly.
Not sure what you mean by which brands he can speak to when only one brand (Tektro) is involved!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
