What's your best set up on your garmin, I have one which is ft climbed, hill %, cadence and hr which I like. Dose anyone else have one they can't live without and if so what is it and when do you use it?

    I have 7 fields on my 500
    Time, speed, distance
    Time of day
    Current percentage gradient
    Average speed and average cadence

Generally dont use HRM but if i did i would swap with time of day...
  • Power
    Candence
    Hrm
    Speed
    Time of ride

Then have another page on my 510 with
    Distance
    Actual time
    Across speed
    L/r power split
Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.
  • Av. Power (3s)
    Cadence
    HR
    Speed
    Av. Speed
    Distance
    % Gradient

Seems a lot on one page but I have the new 1000 which has a big screen - I don't have any other pages set up.
  • I have one main screen which works for 80% of my rides including interval sessions (500 edge)

    power 30s
    power 3s
    cadence
    hr zone
current lap time (adjust to current lap distance if using distance as a marker)
    np lap

For TT's, I keep it simple so the numbers are bigger.

    power 3s
current lap distance (helps me pace my power over '4' quadrants')
    av power lap

I do vary the screens from time to time, either to get better visibility of particular numbers, or adjust some of the info I think I'll need whether for racing, training, or club rides.

The one thing I wish you could do is use the navigation / bread crumb courses and see some choice info at the same time. But you need to keep flicking between screens.
  • Page 1:
    Timer,
    Speed,
    Distance, Time of day,
    HR, Avg. HR,
    Cadence, Avg. Cadence.

    Page 2:
    Gradient,
    Total Ascent,
    Avg. Speed, Max Speed,
    Odo, Distance to go,
    Temperature, Calories.

I keep it on page 1, occasionally switch to page 2 to check average speed or total ascent. Quite a few of the fields are there to fill the space.
