  • If I was moving back to UK I would be looking for work and a place to live in Peaks or Dales or welsh borders. I'd be avoiding the south east like the plague.

I've always liked Kent and not because they speak funny. Houses are sensibly priced, you have access to London for jobs, its not too over crowded and close to both the sea and the countryside.

I think completely the opposite, spent a fair few years working in Kent, found the place uninteresting and over priced

Sheffield, naturally. Close to the (well in the) Peaks, Wharncliffe, Yorkshire Dales, NY moors, Wolds, and being centrally placed, not far from other places too.

This.......more specifically my house, but it's not for sale, so everywhere else is rubbish
  • Another vote for the Peaks... we're smack bang in the middle in Chinley. Great riding on the door-step, MTB and road, station on line to Sheffield and Manchester and Lakes and North Wales not too far either
  • Tweed Valley of course!

You just have to be careful if a Sarth Effrican asks you where you live
