front derailleur cable and housing snapped! help!

Hi,

I have never changed my cables or housing before so I do not know which cables and housing to buy. So was wondering if there was anything in particular I should be looking at? There are loads of different types on bicycle shops but I have no idea which is best? or what will fit my bike (specialized allez compact 2013). Also how often do you think I should be lubing and changing my cables and housing? I ride on average 4/5 times a week at least an hour. In the winter I try to get out just as much so a lot of the time in the rain.

    Any road gear cable kit - best value are the likes of Jagwire or Clarks
    Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

    Okay, thanks for the quick reply, do you know the difference between inner and outer cables? Do they also come with a tip for the end? or do I have to buy those separately?

    Take the cable inner to your local bike shop, and they will be able to advise you.
    As Monty says, any road gear cable set will be absolutely fine. If you are changing the outers, you will need to invest in a good pair of cable housing cutters.
