Mixing rings with Praxis rings

I have a 52/36 praxis works set and as Praxis don't do a 38T ring I was thinking of running a 38T inner, probably a rotor one. Praxis state not to mix and match their rings and anyone else's. However that doesn't guarantee it won't work so just wanted to see if anyone has had any issues when they have mixed different inner rings with their outers.

Can't imagine there would be any issue. The inner ring doesn't feature any ramps or pins and are pretty much identical between all manufacturers.
