Hi
I am looking at upgradeing the groupset on my caad 9 which has a bb30 bottom bracket. I would like something like an ultegra or sram force chainset, maybe an older 6700 ultegra, will these work with bb30 ?
Thanks for any help

  • Force (or Red), certainly have options for BB30.

Alternatively, get a BB30 adaptor and run whatever you want.

Does that mean removing the bb30 and replacing it with a different bb ?
    Thanks

You can keep the BB30 bearings in the frame and then use an adapter (that slot into the bb30 bearings - very easy to install btw) then fit the 24mm Shimano Ultegra Chainset. i currently use these
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/wheels-manufact ... 5360375067 and ive had no problems.

or you can remove the BB30 bearings and then fit a full threaded conversion kit. So the shimano bottom bracket screws into it. Then fit the Ultegra chainset.

If you choose a BB30 chainset (like sram force) no adapters are needed. only the BB30 bearings already installed in your frame.

Thanks very much, very helpfull :-)
  • It's almost cliché, but have you considered Hollowgrams? Native BB30 and really nice.
