Thanks for that but I would prefer a 29" or 27.5. As I feel I can get more speed on them and find them easier to cycle.
Cheers for the reply.0 -
The Cube Aim has a terrible fork - undamped and nasty. The other two are at least damped.
The Rockrider is better. Whatever the wheel size.I don't do smileys.

If you go up to £600 the voodoo bizango from halfords wins lots of awards.0

At this budget bigger wheels won't make you faster. Getting the best all round package for your money will.
A lot of very good riders can't tell the difference between 26" & 27.5" (actual difference is only an inch) and many riders just don't like 29ers.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
If you get a british cycling membership you can get 10% at halfords.
Will bring the Bizango to £540'ish._______________

Just try a few bikes and choose based on the bike. Wheel size does affect how a bike rides but so do other components as well.0 -
Thanks for the replys, I think it's between the voodoo bizango and the Rockrider8.1.

What sort of riding do you want to do, larger wheels offer the biggest benefit for faster riding.
I tried a Trek Superfly Elite (£4k worth) and while it was definitely faster than my 26er I couldn't get over how big and cumbersome it felt in anything approaching a tight corner, that's why I've stuck with my Carrera. Could possibly be tempted to try a 650B though.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
