Hi

I have a set of Rockshox XC30 Gold TK solo air tapered 120mm on my Boardman team 650b, and I am getting a knocking through the bars when going over repeated small bumps i.e. a grassy surface, almost like the head set is loose but it isn't. I have tried the rebound in all the different positions to make sure the fork is not topping out and it dosen't make any difference. Is this something these forks do as they are a budget fork or should I look for other problems?

Thanks

Ollie

Try loosening stem bolts and top cap, then tighten top cap (not too much) then stem bolts.

If they are done in the reverse, this can cause the play you are feeling.

Double check the headset is not loose. Also check front wheel is located correctly in the drop outs and check the bearing. Search for "how to guides" online if you are unsure about what to do.

Can you feel some play if you lift the front up and down when stationary? If yes could be loose bushings, some small play is normal. If in doubt take it back to the store you bought it from for an inspection.
