Riding to the Tour of Britain, Saturday, near Guildford

I'm planning to ride over to the Tour route this Saturday, probably to the climb up to the A31 at the Hog's Back. I'll be riding up from Winchester, and will pick up the route at Elstead, which they will also be riding through. The plan is then to ride over to the A31.

My question is whether the roads will be closed to traffic at that time? How much in advance of the peloton arrival will it be possible to ride up the road? Is it a rolling road closure, and does anyone know how much either side of the peloton the road will be closed?

Thanks

It was rolling road closures here last year and I watched on the hill you mentioned. They went up there at a pace a commuter could! Really relaxed.
You can ride towards the route they are taking all the way up to 5 or 10 mins before if not closer. And its open as soon as the broom wagon goes by.

Thanks, that's really helpful. Should be nice and easy then.
