I've been on the pre-order list for the Zone power meter for quite a while, maybe 18 months. However today I got an e-mail saying they'll release their product today at Interbike. ZONE D.P.M.X power meter will sell for US$999.

If you're not familiar with the Zone power meter, it's a cleat based meter. Right and left power with no parts fitted to your bike. It's built into a set of Speedplay Zero cleats with a small pod on each shoe to take care of the processing and transmission to your head unit. The obvious advantage over other systems is that it's completely transferable between mutiple bikes so long as you wear the same shoes.

I'll be interested to see what the price will be in Europe. It's an Irish company so I presume it'll be available this side of the Atlantic from the start.

The thought of walking around on two high precision power meters makes the hairs stand up on the back on my neck.

4iiii is of more interest to me.
