How do you find cycling events?

I've found the British Cycling event search rather fiddly to use and not very user friendly and have been debating attempting to create something better myself.

What other places do you use to look for sportives, races etc. and how do you find it? Is there anything you particularly like or dislike?

Here are some alternatives I've already come across but none feature as many events as BC:

- http://www.aukweb.net/
- http://road.cc/uk-cycling-events

I'm thinking that something that contains all the events but is also really easy to search and use would be decent.

I dont think there is anything out there that does this, unfortunately.

I was out riding my local training loop on sunday and saw loads of signs for 'Cycle event' which didnt say what the event was. I still havent been able to find out! I think it might have been a triathlon but would have been helpful if the signs revealed the name of or or organiser of the event...

Yeah, that's kind of why I want to create it!

I'm sure there must be loads of interesting cycling events that's it hard to keep on top of or find out about.

Our signs just say "Cycling Event" with a generic logo on them. It means that they are easily reusable without having to change dates etc on them.

We put them up the day before and take them down straight after the event, so are not really there to advertise the event.

In answer to your question, we normally advertise on British Cycling, Cyclosport and Cycling Weekly and via Social Media. (We got a four page spread last week, which was a career high point!)
