new Stem size

New handlebars are 760mm wide old were 680mm, really happy I went for it but feel the stem needs reducing as I'm a bit to stretched. Current stem is 90mm

What stem length would anyone recommend? an article on here says 2 - 1 so according to this theory 80mm longer requires a stem at 50mm is bang on the money but just sounds comically small?

Cheers

Never heard of the 2:1 thing. Just go for what feels best, which usually involves buying and selling a couple cheapy stems before settling on a size. Then you can buy something swankier if you want. I'd probably start somewhere around 60-65mm.
  • I'd try 60-65 as the other fella says - dropping 40mm off in one hit is a big change. Definitely check ebay for cheapy stems to try then go for bling when you are happy with the size. 50mm isn't that comically short I have a 40mm with 740mm bars on my bronson. dropped from 70mm and 710mm bars.
    Closet jockey wheel pimp whore.
  • Thanks guys gone for a 60mm.
