Shiny new clipless pedals!

Ok, so fed up with my feet slipping around on the cheap plastic flats that came with the bike, decided to put my toe in the water and get my first clipless pedals. Have gone for Shimano PD-T420 so I still have flats if I want to just jump on in ordinary shoes.
So just fitted them and had a little ride around - seems good so far. Was a little nervous about how to click in and out but it seems amazingly easy. I thought clicking in would be about precise alignment but it appears amazingly forgiving in clipping in, and coming out was just as smooth.
All ready now for my commute to work tomorrow, see how we get on!

I've just followed the OP's link and had a look at Shimano's new "Click'R" technology.
It uses a lighter (weaker?) spring for the clipless system so that it is easier to clip in and out.Shimano wrote:STEP-IN 60 % LESS THAN SPD
STEP-OUT 62 % LESS THAN SPD
Clipping in requires 60% and out requires 62% less effort than traditional SPD pedals, due to a lighter, single spring engagement.
However, if it is that easy to unclip, how will it fare if a rider has to deploy The Power Awesome and pulls up when sprinting?FCN 3: Raleigh Record Ace fixie-to be resurrected sometime in the future

I have used these. They are indeed very easy to use. No inadvertent release when sprinting, but you do need to be conscious of your foot position when laying down any effort. Biggest advantage was that they are not obviously clipless to your better half who has certain paranoid notions about cycling gear; and they have reflectors!
(But you will want to move on in very short order).0
