I would like to buy a roll of the finishing tape.

Does anyone know if it can be bought separately?

Please resist the temptation to tell me to use electrical tape.

I asked the Lizard Skin bods a few months when I needed to re-wrap mine. From memory I believe they said they might be able to supply some new finishing strips, but if carefully removed the original strips should be re-usable. I managed to use what I had, just. I did put electrical tape underneath as well though. It is stickier and more elastic than the skin's stuff. Belt and braces I guess? 8)
