(Newbie)boardmen gears not changing

Hi just got new boardmen sport,first road bike,gonna take bit gettin used to,but on riding home from halfords ,mile later the left side gear changer stoped workin,the little lever still moves but nothing happens and when trying to move the whole lever it doesnt rearly move,any ideas ?can take back to halfords in the morning,but would rather try learn myself as the lad in there when i picked it up was rearly didnt av a clue!!

    Sounds like they didn't secure the front derailleur cable tightly enough when setting the bike up.

    DM-GN0001-08, the link is under the heading General Operation on the page link below.

    That will be a good reference guide for you as well as the various online you tube video guides that are available.
