Only just getting in to the CX side of the sport having been riding MTB and Road rigs for years. I am looking to add to the stable of bikes a CX setup but looking for some advice.

I have been looking about and spotted the new Raleigh RX Pro which looks like a cracking all rounder for the money. Going to be used for commuting in winter and also riding local trails in and around Edinburgh, so Pentlands, Tweed Valley etc. Anyone any experience of the recent Raleigh range as have struggled to find any reviews online

I took the advice of the seasons crossers in the central league and bought a boardman team from halfrauds.
    Insert bike here:

If you're looking at the 2015 one in orange that is a cracking looking bike and I believe it's important to like the look of your bike because you will want to ride it more.

I have no idea about Sram components being a shimano man but if Rival is equivalent to Tiagra or better you will be fine there.

One point that might be worth mentioning is the through axle might be an issue if you fancy doing a wheel change mid race as it might slow you down a bit.

SRAM Rival would the equivalent of Shimano 105.
I love SRAM's double tap and it suits CX riding better than Shimano in my opinion.
One lever to do it all. Makes sense to me.
    Great bike for the money.
  • Would be a great bike if we could get it to work, boys in the shop are scratching their heads due to what appears to be a major compatibility issue between the cole wheels and SRAM rival brake calliper. Ie there is no clearance so the spokes hit off the reservoir. Looks like its time to choose a different bike :(
