Should I have a bike clearout?

My fancy new race bike arrives shortly, and I'm considering my options re my Planet X Carbon Pro, which has done me well for my first race season. It's never been crashed, but has covered 8k or so.

Also, I'm wondering if I ditch my genesis equilibrium with full guards and rack, for my new boardman CX and use that as the winter training ride (and commuter)

I don't need to sell them, but can't work out whether a) now is a bad time to sell and b) the effort is worth the relatively modest amount I'll get for them(I could, for instance, leave the PX at work for lunchtime training rides).

I'm also thinking about ditching the fixie, which is a touch too big for me and gets ridden about a mile a month.

Thoughts?

    Spares?
Always good to have a spare bike incase one gets damaged ... or if the commuter has a puncture you can just pick up another bike (or swap a wheel out - which doesn't mean a whole bike though so not such a good argument!)

I might have one go at ebay at a price that I think I won't get, then if I get it I'm a happy man*

*means I can buy that 953 genesis frame I saw the other day

  • If you really only do a mile a month on the fixie, you might as well get rid of it
  • I am not sure that selling bikes is an option...collecting them seems to be the norm...!
