Looking to swap out my Hope C2s and was looking for a used set of M666. A friend has offered me a very cheap set of M665's. Are they anywhere near as good? How will the compare to my much older Hope C2?

I went from Hope M4s to SLX and like them a lot better. Hopes were powerful but wooden, whereas the SLX feel better modulated. I think they'll be a definite improvement over your C2s.Current:

Had those on a Whyte 905. Excellent brakes. Have XT`s on my Zesty and there is no difference in performance - just some easier adjustability and "blingness"! You won`t go wrong with those - snap his hand off, you won`t regret it2017 YT Jeffsy 27 AL Comp

M665's are the old style shimano brakes and aren't as good as the newer current crop of shimanos.0

They're still better than ancient Hope C2s though.Current:

£30 with rotors. Aslong as there as good as or better than my Hope C2s then they will be good enough for me0
